As I looked over my last post, I realized not much has changed, haha. I wish I could report that our house has sold and we have a place to live and I have a job, but alas we must continue with our patience. One great thing we have learned is that Tony qualifies for a grant from JWU. This is exciting. Right now, he qualifies for 3000 dollars a year, but we were told that when we appeal our financial aid status we would qualify for more! This news was enough to tide us over until other things begin to fall into place.
We have had some eventful weekends over the past couple of weeks. Two weekends ago, we got the chance to hang out with Michael and Erin. That was a blast. We hung out by the pool and then played Putt-Putt in the evening.

He may get mad at me for posting this, but this is the silly man I love!

This weekend we had something almost every night. Sunday evening we had dinner with a couple from church. Morgan and Wade made dinner (which was delicious) and we brought the dessert. I have been wanting Tony to try his hand at a strawberry tart. It was quite the challenge. We had to attempt the crust 3 times. Tony finally got it cooked and all together. It looked wonderful, then my clutzy self went and almost lost it. The crust cracked and we had a bit of a landslide effect. It may not have looked the best, but it sure did taste amazing! He has now determined that he will master a tart crust. :) I know he will do it. He definitely has talent.
Yesterday we celebrated Memorial Day over at the pool with his family. It was a really nice day. I actually got some color, even with my 100+ sunscreen. Afterward, we wanted to go and get dessert from Nonnah's. Even after our decadent dessert from the night before, we trekked out to find us something delicious. Unfortunately, they were closed. Fortunately, we went to Longhorn's and had their Chocolate Stampede. It was way more than enough for Tony and I to share.
I am so grateful for the men and women you serve and have served our country to provide me with the everyday freedoms I have. We are blessed!
